Association of East Asian Research Universities (AEARU)

Background

The Association of East Asian Research Universities (AEARU) is a regional organization that was founded in January 1996. It brought together the presidents of leading research-oriented universities in East Asia with the goal of carrying out mutual exchanges among each other.

Activities

As its core activity, once a year, AEARU brings all of its members together to review the annual events organized by the association and other matters related to it. AEARU’s activities also include organizing workshops and international symposia, holding student summer camps and student competitions. These activities are conducted throughout the year in order to promote mutual exchanges of ideas and information and to develop close bonds among the member universities.
